2. What information we collect
Candidates: your name and contact details, your CV, career history, skills and qualifications, current and expected salary, notice period, the roles you're interested in, and notes from our conversations and interviews.
Clients and contacts at client companies: your name, job title, company, work contact details, and details of the roles you're hiring for.
Website visitors: anything you send us through the site (for example the contact form), and basic technical information such as your browser type and pages visited.
We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health, ethnicity or religion) unless it's needed for a specific role or the law requires it, and we'll explain why at the time.
3. How we collect it
- From you directly: when you send us your CV, contact us through the website, email or phone, or speak to us about a role or a vacancy.
- From professional networks and public sources: as headhunters, we may find your details on sites such as LinkedIn, job boards, or your company's website. If we contact you this way, we'll tell you where we found your details.
- From referrals: someone may recommend you to us.
- From clients: feedback after interviews, and information needed to arrange an offer.
4. How we use it and why
We use your information to:
- match candidates with suitable roles, and contact you about opportunities;
- arrange interviews, offers and placements;
- understand and fill our clients' hiring needs;
- keep in touch after a placement;
- run our business, keep records and meet our legal obligations;
- reply to enquiries sent through our website.
Under UK data protection law, we rely on:
- Legitimate interests: running a recruitment business, including approaching people about roles that may suit them. You can object at any time.
- Contract: where we need the information to provide our service to you or a client.
- Legal obligation: for example, right-to-work checks and tax records.
- Consent: where we ask for it, such as for marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Who we share it with
- Clients: we only send your CV or details to a client after we've discussed the role with you and you've agreed.
- Service providers: companies that help us run the business, such as email, website hosting and IT providers.
- Professional advisers: such as accountants and lawyers.
- Authorities: HMRC, regulators or the police, where the law requires it.
We never sell your personal information.
6. Sending information outside the UK
We work with clients and candidates across Europe, and some of our service providers store data outside the UK. When your information leaves the UK, we make sure it is protected as UK law requires, for example by sending it only to countries the UK recognises as having adequate protection, or by using approved contract terms.
7. Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe, and only people who need it for their work can access it. If there is a data breach that puts you at risk, we'll tell you and the ICO where the law requires us to.
8. How long we keep it
We keep candidate information for as long as it's useful in helping you find roles, up to a maximum of six years after our last contact with you. After that, we delete it unless you've asked us to keep in touch. We keep business and financial records for six years, as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see section 9).
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it;
- ask us to delete it;
- object to us using it, or ask us to restrict how we use it;
- ask us to transfer it to you or someone else;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, email matt@taylorhallrecruitment.com. There's normally no charge, and we aim to reply within one month.
10. Cookies
Our website uses only the basic cookies and technical data needed for it to work. We don't use Google Analytics or advertising cookies.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
12. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
